Hi all, I'm so happy to have found this forum and I'm hoping that you can help me identify what year my Music Man HD-130 head & cabinet were made. I'm including pictures and any help you all can give would be greatly appreciated. I bought this amp lightly used more than 30 years ago and I've had it in storage almost ever since. (That's why it's in such beautiful condition.) I'm now ready to sell it to someone who can use it the way it should be used, so I'm also trying to figure out what it's worth.

If it's got a 12ax7 PI tube,
If it's got a 12ax7 PI tube, it's pre 77-78. If it doesn't, after that up until maybe 80. Can't remember! It has obviously been re-tubed with Groove Tubes in it. Value- you might check fleabay and see what they are going for. Condition will get you the top of the scale. Cabinet is later than the head, obviously. Mike.

Hi mm210!! Thanks so much for your reply!! Forgive me for not knowing this, but where do I find the 12ax7 PI tube? (I'm enclosing another pic which hopefully will shed light.) Also, you said that the cabinet is later than the head. How can you tell that? Is there a way for me to determine the year of the cabinet too? Thanks again for your help and response!!
OK- no 12ax7 so it's after
OK- no 12ax7 so it's after the cut off of when they switched over to the SS driver so after 77-78. If you were to pull the chassis out, you would probably find the date scribbled on the driver board or the chassis to get a little closer. The cabinet is a little later because of the reverse field badges of black on silver instead of silver on black. Can't see the badge real clear but looks like 80's to me.
Look on the PCB inside
If you pull out the chassis…you may find the date written on the circuit board in sharpie pen.
Also, the transformer has a date code for when it was manufactured.
