Hey Folks - My 410 65 has the lushest, most beautiful reverb when you play with the master all the way up, reverb at about 6, and the channel volume under 4 or 5. Especially if you play lighly, squeezing 'blue notes' etc. As you turn up past that point, the lushness goes away. I am guessing it is because the reverb return signal remains the same, but the channel volume has increased. At '10' on the channel volume, with the reverb on 10, there really isn't much reverb at all. Assuming this is normal, any ideas how to make it more present at the higher volume? I just pulled my reverb tank, all springs are there, and it is a 4fb3a1b, which I think is correct for a 65 with 12ax7 phase inverter. I am guessing this is simply the design - or is my tank weak? The tanks ARE a weak spot but if yo have "lush" at 4 or 5, it sounds like the springs and stuff are OK. You don't have the send and receive cords switched do you? The in and out inpedances are close enough that it would work backwards but give you very little gain. Othe than that, you will have to boost the gain coming out of IC#6. This can be done a couple of ways but it also may mean tha the LM307H is weak. Try replacing that first before you start juggle outputs. Also, IC5 is used as a driver to the tank so IT could be weak. | ||

So I take it you still have a fairly bold and present reverb when your channel volume is way up? I will start with the simple stuff first and then work my way up. :-) I'll report back my findings. | ||

Actually, I don't use reverb. In fact, I'm not using my MM very much but the 'verb DOES seem consistant. I've been using a bassman head for a while-it's easier to cary. My M has two rather heavy Weber ca10's in it and it;s kind of awkward. I like the sound of it but the head format works better fo me right now. | ||
