Ive been asked to fill in for a friends band on their upcoming run up the west coast in 4 weeks and I need to get a nice sturdy flight case for my Musicman Hd130 2x12. Im not too sure on the exact dimensions but ive been told they are almost the same as a fender twin reverb. I have no real knowledge on them since i never needed one before. anyone have any important things i should be aware of before i make my purchase. anyone have a company or model they would recommend?

My twin spent 20+ years in a STAR brand case. Never a disapointment. Don't know where you're at but Berry cases is in ST louis and does all the cases for Little River Band and those guys are ALL over the place. If you want, you can email me and I'll measure the inside of my twin case and let you know how big it is.

Im located in the SF bay area of california and there doesnt seem to be alot of places that carry them in store. ill definitely look into stars line of cases. Id appreciate the measurements for your amp case. thanks alot. im assuming you own a HD130 as well. if i was to get a 2 peice case( breaks near the bottom so it can sit on the lower portion with the casters), would it be safe stacking it on top of the complete case considering its weight? thanks again mike.

The inside dimensions to my star case are h-22 3/4 x w 29 x d 12 1/4. Now this had a twin in it but the MM should be close. I'd just call them and ask them what dimension cases that they have. As for sitting it on top, I used to do it all the time when I could stand having that loud SOB up that high. Like I said though, this case was bought new for my 78-79 twin back around 1980 so I don't know about todays. My twin had jbls in it so it was freaking heavy! Mike. |
