Hi, I am wondering why electrolytic coupling capacitors are used in the HD150 after op-amps. Is this necessary? What effect does this have on the circuit, and it's sound? Any info is appreciated.

Some have used different mylar and metal film caps in some amps but they can be a little warmer and may take up much more space. Have you seen a 20uf mylar or metal film cap or similar caps? they are huge! The electrolytics, I think give the amp more briter attack and are very articulate, but maybe a little too brite for some, none the less these amps can and do sound awesome!
