Which transformer? The power transformer is somewhat easier as you just need to check for an AC voltage on each winding that corresponds to each DC power supply's output and rectifier configuration. Output transformers are harder to check, but there is a good way to do it outlined in the Gerald Weber (Kendrick Amplifiers) DVD that is devoted to amp servicing. It is a lot easier to see how it is done if you view the DVD. Steve | ||

On a power transformer it is easiest to jsut measure the amp's power supplies. If the supplies are all correct then there shouldn't be a transformer problem. You can't simply measure an output transformer with a meter to test it properly. It must be tested with an AC signal. The method I referred to in my previous message is one way way to do the job. Since I cannot post the video your best bet is to either buy the DVD, buy one of Gerald Weber's books which contain this method or search the web for some similar procedure. Steve |
