A friend was good friends with him and when his band Border patrol played in Grass Valley he took some pics. I do have a old VHS tape with him playing live on Soundstage 1979 using a MM HD-130 212 with what looks like a 212 extension cab with JBL's and playing a Gibson Firebird.

Here's John Mcfee playing with the Doobie Brothers in 79' using a Musicman HD-130 head. His solo is at the end. Different sound than Tom, but still great tone with these amps.

I actually seen him use that amp recently with a 212 cab. I also seen him use the Roland VG-8. But those HD-130's sure sounded good. Now just think how good they sound after I mod them ;)

Looks like they pulled the McFee vid for some kind of infraction. Probably stepped on somebody's toes.
